VBS Mission 2021: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

(WASH Project)

Every year at VBS, we like to show our kids how to have a heart for Missions. They can experience how good it is to love and help others, just like Jesus! Through God's love, they can make a positive impact in their world!

Clean Water and Sanitation is Important: Over 2 billion people around the world do not have access to clean and safe water at home. As a result, one of the leading causes of death in low-income communities is illness due to waterborne disease, lack of sanitation, and poor hygiene practices. In some places, children and women walk hours each day to gather water instead of going to school or spending time on other productive activities.

How we are going to help: We are partnering with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries to provide communities with safe water through the implementation of a comprehensive WASH program that includes water supply, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.

WASH changes lives through:

  • Safe water provided through wells, cisterns, and filtration technologies

  • Communities mobilized by resources and education provided by local Nazarene churches

  • Sanitation resources, like latrine covers and washing stations

  • Community trainings in safe sanitation and hygiene practices

Join us on this awesome VBS mission that our kids will be so proud to support. Please share this wonderful opportunity to help others with your child, and encourage them to have a giving heart by supporting this mission.

So parents and kids, please save up your spare change or dollars for children to bring and give. We will have a time for offering at the close of each day's opening service or look for the Offering jars in the Foyer. 100% of all donations will go toward this year's project. Please share this meaningful mission with your family and others! It feels good to give and make a difference!

To make this extra fun for the kids, we will be having an exciting girl vs. boy contest to see who can raise the most donations for our VBS Mission project! Kids just love cheering on their peers for the title of "Best Givers!" In addition, we have a GIVING GOAL of $600. If we reach this attainable goal, kids will get to SLIME their pastor!!!

For more information about this mission, please visit Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Projects or click here...
